Nursing Home Visits: at Pearl River Hospital & Nursing Home in Poplarville, Ms.
Volunteers for Adoption Day: We are in need of volunteers for adoption days. Adoption days are held a few times a month on Saturdays for just a few hours. For anyone interested in helping out, whether it be once a month or only a few times a year, it would be greatly appreciated. We welcome school students as well.

Who We Are:
Established in 1994, the AAS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping abused, abandoned, orphaned and neglected companion animals. These animals are fostered until they can be adopted into loving homes. Each animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated and receives any other medical care that may be necessary. The AAS has a "No-Kill" policy, being more of a sanctuary type setting than a shelter.
AAS is entirely dependent upon the support of our local community. The AAS holds several fundraising events, in order to help raise money for homeless pets that we foster. If you would like to help whether it be fostering, volunteering, or making a donation, please contact us directly. Read more

PET OF THE MONTH:
Lindsay is a mix, believed to be Dachshund and Beagle. She is 15lbs, and 3yrs. old. She is very sweet, quite, well behaved and gets along with other dogs and cats. She has been treated for heartworms, and has made a full recovery. She is a lovable little dog - who loves to be in your lap. She would be a wonderful individual or family pet. Lindsay is being fostered in Poplarville, MS.
We currently have a litter of several bobtail kittens as well as their parents. Mom, SweetPea is a white with little orange on her ears bobtail, dad, Bobby is gray and white bobtail. The kittens vary in color. If you would like more information, please contact AAS. Both parents and kittens are being fostered in Picayune, MS. We also have several other cats and kittens in need of homes.
